MARC FORNES
Marc Fornes, Architect DPLG, is the founder of THEVERYMANY, www.theverymany.net, a design studio and collaborative research forum engaging the field of architecture via encoded and explicit processes.
In 2004 he graduated with a Master of Architecture and Urbanism from the Design Research Lab of the Architectural Association in London after having previously studied in France and Sweden. Marc’s work experience in France, La Reunion and UK includes ZAHA HADID ARCHITECTS, where he was the project architect, from competition to tender documentation, for an experimental Mediatheque in Pau. During his three years on this project he directed the material research and geometrical development for the largest self-supported carbon fibre shell to date. Marc has led workshops and appeared as a guest critic at the Architectural Association, The Royal College of Art, Pratt Institute, Columbia University and the University of Pennsylvania. hey marc,
i've been a student at the AA since 2005, so i guess we missed each other. Just started the DRL this year after finishing my diploma and we're researching coral structures with theo. I was wondering if you could help me in understanding how you've produced these really nice coral structures. I've been trying to study corals at two levels - hierachy of branching pattern and surface structure at individual coral level and found your work quite similar to what i had in mind.
It would be great if you could either share the rhino script with me or explain how you've generated these. In return I can only promise to send you the final work that i develop by 1st november and acknowledge your help on the project.
I hope you dont find the email rude or too demanding. you know how it is back in at the drl.

Your work is fantastic and inspiring. As a student teaching myself scripting and generative techniques, your work has been extremely helpful. Will you be presenting (publicly) elsewhere on the east coast this fall? I unfortunately missed your exhibit in Sept...
